When I was a child, there was a phase in my school that lasted for almost three years. The phase was nutella sandwiches. Unlike any other sandwiches that could usually be found in a child’s lunch box, nutella sandwiches were two pieces of white bread with only nutella as the filling. Sometimes, if the parents felt like being fancy, they would add in some sliced strawberries or even some sliced almonds. The phases started when all of the “cool” kids would come to school with these sandwiches, and children whose natural desire is to fit in, more and more nutella sandwiches started to pop out of the lunch boxes.
My mother was the only parent, it seemed, who refused to give me nutella sandwiches. Now that I’m older, I can look back on that and realize that my mother did the right thing, because nutella is a treat not meant to be eaten for lunch. I don’t care how much they advertise how it’s a healthy snack, it’s still chocolate.
But that doesn’t mean that I’m not absolutely heads over heals for the stuff. Because trust me, I pretty sure the five pounds I gained during my visit to France was from nutella cover baguettes and crepes!
So to show my love for this chocolate spread, here are my top ten ways to use it in some amazing recipes.
