Being a celebrity has its perks.
You have the luxury of flying to tropical islands and cultural European providences. You are constantly given free products, such as designer clothes, expensive makeup products and jewelry; even though you have the money to afford everything. You don’t have to wait in line during the freezing month of November on a sidewalk in Manhattan waiting to get into a club. You have first choice in everything and can request only the best of everything.
What I would say is the best perk about being a celebrity is the fact that the majority of the things you do, are simply because you can.
Fashion is the strongest defense of this theory; from Nicki Minaj’s 2010 VMA Golden Ribcage dress to Lady Gaga’s 2010 VMA Meat Dress (The 2010 VMA was all sorts of crazy…) celebrities are pushing fashion for the simple reason that they can.
But there are just some fashion pieces that have no rhyme or reason, other then to empty a person’s bank account, and should never have been created.
Last week, the costume company, “Morphsuits”, launched its newest creation; a morphsuit made up of around 20,000 authentic diamonds that will set a person back a $1 million dollars. Called the “Morph-a-Million” this head to toe body suit is set to come on sale for Halloween and is dubbed “The Mercedes Benz of Morphsuits”. If that’s not enough, the company is also selling special “Morph-a-Million” wigs, daypacks, and sweatbands.
After reading this article I was so shocked that a company would actually waste their time creating this ugly suit that cost them 20,000 diamonds each, when I realized, some sad rich fool will end up buying it just because then can.
Just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should!
