Can anyone believe that in only two weeks we will be leaving 2013 and stepping into 2014? I know I can’t; it was only in the last three months that I stopped writing 2012 on my papers and documents and started to write 2013. You can image my professor’s annoyance at having to see a giant scribble mark on the corner of my paper after every exam. I even got into the habit of writing an “Sorry” next to the ugly mark and sometimes a picture of a puppy or kitten. Hey, don’t laugh, because I am pretty sure that those cute doodles are the only reason why I, a journalism major, passed advanced macro-economics…
Not only does transferring over from one year to another cause people to write the wrong dates on their papers, or have the obvious mindset of “One year older, one year wiser”, but it introduces us to new things. Each year we gain new inventions, new reasons to celebrate, new discoveries, and my favorite, new fashion trends.
Come on, did you really think I was going to start talking about new invention?
