Okay, show of hands!
Who here, as a child, has ever made something edible for someones birthday. Perhaps it was a pasta necklace, made with dried macaroni or ziti, or pictures, made with dried kidney and black beans. When you are a young child, broke and have the strong desire to please, foods are some of the first presents that you will give to your loved ones. Once you get old enough to use the oven on your own, you may start to cook foods, and not just “paste” them together.
Baking cakes and other treats were always my “Go-To” presents for my loved ones during the years that I didn’t have a lot of money. And it is because of these experiences that I have learned quite a lot of cake recipes over the year. You can’t repeat cake gifts now, can you?
Here are some of my favorite recipe that I have used over the years, they range from simple to minorly complex, but all are equally delicious!
