The Year of Food

The year of 2013 has been the year of foodies. With instagram’s rise to fame through the popularity of taking picture of your restaurant dishes or showing off your home cooked meals. Plus, new food inventions being invented, on what seems like, a daily basis. Food has been the center point of this year.

The year 2013 has given us the famous cronut (A combination of a donut and croissant), ramen noodle burger bun (Ramen pasta noodles molded into a disk), naked oat milk (Vegan approved milk made from oat grains) and champagne vending machines (The definition of awesomeness). Each food trend has been better then the last; with my personal favorite being the cronut.

The first, and last, time that I ever had a cronut was when I went to San Francisco over the summer. To be honest, I was quite skeptical of the whole thing. Sure, I’m always up to trying new foods, but I just couldn’t get past the whole combination. Who knows? Perhaps my brain was all tired out of foodie talk and tapped out for a few weeks. The cronut was very rich, so rich, that I had to share if with my siblings just to get through the whole thing. And as a self proclaimed sweet tooth gal, that’s saying alot!

2013 has been a year for the foodies, and with the new foods in itself, comes new food invention tools. Some of them are even crazier then the ramen bun!
