Fried chicken is the icon of a love/hate relationship, savory food style. You spend your whole week choosing the grilled chicken option on top of your salads. You make your chicken dishes without flour or breadcrumbs, opting out instead to simple healthily grill the chicken; you even forgo the flour coating when making chicken marsala, parmesan, and francese. In other words, grilled chicken has been kicking fried chicken’s butt in a contest of “who is eaten more?”
But do we choose those flappy pieces of chicken because they taste better then their fried brothers? No! We chose the grilled chicken option because we have been told that they are superior in health. Now, I’m not going to sit here and try to convince you that fried chicken is healthy, because I’m not into the whole lying thing. Fried chicken isn’t healthy and the grilled chicken is technically the healthier choice between the two.
But, you know what? Fried chicken is just so good, that perhaps you will be able to break your healthy eating streak for just a few dishes.
