DIY Lips

Cheaper? Healthier? Perhaps even, dare I say it, better?

Okay, enough of me sounding like an awful commercial. Here are some great DIY projects for you to get your most kissable lip. Also, none of these recipes include kool-aid because, well, who wants to walk around with a bright orange stained lip for two weeks? Yes, that’s right, I said two weeks. Damn me and wanting to play the role of guinea pig…

How To: Pick the fruit juice that is the color you want your lips to be. Personally, I love to use pomegranate or beet root. Next, mix a few drops of the juice with coconut oil until you reach your desired color. Lastly, pour the mixture into a small class container; I use empty baby food jars. There! You’re ready to use your lip stain!

How To: Pick the crayon that is the color you want your lips to be. (Don’t panic! This DIY is a very common one and Crayola informed customers that crayons are chemical free and safe if digested). Next, take the unwrapped crayon and a ‘gob’ of chapstick, place it in a mug and microwave for 2 minutes or until melted. You are going to want to keep an eye on the mixture and stir regularly. When melted, stir with a fork or chopstick (It would stick to a spoon to much) and pour it into an empty chapstick or lipstick container. Let cool and use!
