Healing Smoothies

I don’t know about you guys, but the weather in New York has been absolutely CRAZY.

One day it’s cold – like my ears are going to fall off kind of cold – then the next day it’s in the mid-60s. One day it’s beautiful and sunny and the next day it’s rainy and cloudy. On Monday kids will be playing in the park with no jackets on and then on Wednesday it snows.

Bottom line….Mother Nature doesn’t know what she wants to do with New York.

And if you’re anything like me and my family, then the constant switching of the weather is wrecking havoc on your body. I don’t quite know why it is, but when the weather goes from hot-to-cold-to-hot-to-cold, my body doesn’ know what to do with itself.

So here are some healing smoothies to get you through these rough times!

*The directions are the same for every recipe; just throw the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth*

Congestion Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 2 Oranges
  • 1-inch Nub of Fresh Gingers (Grated)
  • 1 tbsp of Coconut Oil (Melted)
  • 1/2 tsp of Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of Water
  • 1/2 cup of Ice

Inflammation Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of Pitted Cherries
  • 4 Pitted Dates
  • 1/2-inch Nub of Fresh Tumeric (Grated)
  • 2 Basil Leaves
  • 1/2 cup of Green Tea
  • 1/2 cup of Ice

Immunsystem Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of Acai Berries
  • 1 Lemon (The Juice and Zest)
  • 1 Orange
  • 1/2-in Nub of Ginger (Grated)
  • 1/2 cup of Green Tea
  • 1/2 cup of Ice

Fatigue Smoothie

  • 1 Banana
  • 1/2 cup of Sliced Strawberries
  • 1/4 cup of Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 tsp of Wheat Germ
  • 1/2 cup of black tea
  • 1/2 cup of Ice
